At Ladies In Power, we believe every young person deserves to feel seen, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential. More than just an organization, we are a movement, a safe space, and a community dedicated to helping young people both young women and men break barriers, build confidence, and create the future they deserve.
Our Story
Sisters Taneshia and Raquel Miller grew up in San Francisco’s underserved communities, where opportunities were limited. However, they understood the power of mentorship, support, and self-belief.
Taneshia, a community leader and mentor, and Raquel, a professional boxer and youth advocate, knew the odds weren’t always in their favor. But they also knew they had a responsibility to give back and create change.
In 2006, they founded Ladies In Power, a space where youth of all backgrounds could gain guidance, strength, and the tools to build a better future.
Who We Are
For too long, young people—especially in underserved communities—have been told what they can’t do. At Ladies In Power, we show them what’s possible.
We provide mentorship, resources, and real-life skills to help youth:

💖 Learn financial skills for independence and success
💖 Develop leadership abilities and use their voices for change
💖 Create a strong support system with mentors and peers
💖 Explore career paths, college opportunities, and life skills

Our Programs
At Ladies In Power, we provide programs that help young women and men build confidence, gain life skills, and find mentorship to succeed.
🌟 Project Elevate – Supports young adults (TAY) as they transition into independence with career readiness, mental health, and financial literacy resources.
🌟 Youth In Power (YIP) – A leadership and mentorship program for ages 14-24, offering educational support and personal development.
🌟 Lovely Ladies University – A sisterhood-based program that empowers young women with life skills, leadership training, and personal growth opportunities.
