What We Do

Our lovely ladies

CURRICULUM

Our Lovely Ladies program is structed into four developmental areas.

  • Mental Health
  • Health Education
  • Financial Literacy
  • Mentoring
MENTAL HEALTH

Our mental health is especially important to our overall wellbeing. Having confidence, high self-esteem, and knowing your value can help you navigate through life on a higher level. Our I AM SOMEBODY curriculum enhances our members mental health mindset. We provide the tools for our members to grow into mentally health family members, community members and members of society. One’s mindset will determine their future, so our mission is to leave a lasting impact on our members mental mindset.

HEALTH EDUCATION

Health is wealth as my sister always says, what’s unfortunate people don’t always see it that way, especially young people. What’s most disappointing is our society promotes unhealthy eating, diet fads, and unrealistic body images. Our Healthy Living curriculum teaches our members to choose their health first because healthy living is a lifestyle. You must make the right decisions regarding what you eat, when and how you exercise, and set realistic fitness and health goals.

FINANCIAL LITERACY

Financial Literacy is especially important in our society, however there are many people in our country who are financially illiterate. The problem comes from a lack of financial education. Our Let’s Talk Money curriculum teaches our members about money management, credit building, savings, and investing. We conduct a hands-on approach to the learning process and make it fun to learn.

MENTORSHIP

Having someone that supports you on your journey in life is an amazing feeling.  At Ladies In Power, we make a commitment to our members to be a positive role model they can depend on to show up for them for life. Our mentor program consists of a one-on-one relationship with a LIP member and staff member, or volunteer. The mentor / mentee relationship will develop by weekly phone check ins, monthly outings, and mentor events with Ladies In Power.
